*1986, in Austria, oscillating between Linz / Austria and Cologne / Germany.
In 2018 I was cooperating as a light and sound artist with the Neue Musik Ensemble ElectronicID. I am a co-founder with Stefan Tiefengraber of the curatorial soundart project radio433. I was also part of the Off-Space Gemeinde Köln at Ebertplatz in 2019-21. My work has been presented at the Austrian Cultural Forum (London / UK), Ars Electronica Festival (Linz / Austria), House of Electronic Arts (HeK) (Basel / Switzerland), ZKM (Karlsruhe / Germany), 噪咖藝術有限公司 noiseKitchen (Taipei / Taiwan), 스페이스 오뉴월 Galerie O'NewWall (Seoul / Korea), RESPONSIVE (Halifax / Canada) and TADAEX م حسن گا لری (Tehran / Iran).
Artist Statement
In my artistic practice, I explore sensory and synaesthetic states through the use of self-made electronics. I take the essential properties of light and sound and use them across installations and performances, bringing two-dimensional images into three-dimensional space. I see my work in the tradition of Expanded Cinema, and I am influenced by the works of artists like Tony Conrad, Paul Sharit, and Brion Gyson.
My work seeks to push the boundaries of traditional cinema and to create immersive and interactive experiences for audiences. I explore the spatial and temporal possibilities of the medium. Visually, I experiment with flicker and full colors, using simple shapes and clear movements to create a sense of immersion. The sound in my work often features noise, deep bass, and drastic highs, creating a dynamic and engaging experience for the viewer. I combine these elements and play with subjective and cognitive perception, inviting the audience to engage with my work on a sensory and emotional level.
I am interested in the public and non-theatrical spaces, to create unique and engaging experiences for audiences. By blurring the lines between cinema, performance, and installation, I aim to challenge the viewer's expectations and to create works that are thought-provoking, engaging, and memorable.
